During the third marking period, students delved deeper into the Ten Commandments and how Jesus taught us how to live those commandments in our daily lives. Then we discussed how to recognize God's power in the wonder of nature that is all around us. They learned about Joshua bringing the Israelites into the Promised Land and how God's blessings are a springboard for us to constantly pray. For the beginning of Lent, we began the lessons on Lent. Additionally, the students were listening to a daily meditation and reflecting upon it. On days when they did not have religion, they heard it in one of their other classes. The students found a spot in the room away from each other and they listened to the Catholic prayer meditation. I have a wonderful picture in my mind of the students all around the room in these moments of prayer - it always makes me smile! |
